This colourful 8.5cm high bone china mug shows my drawing of the Famous Fishing Boats of Hastings. This is one of the last and now the largest fishing boat fleets in the UK that is launched from the beach.
It depicts a scene of the sterns of some of the most iconic Hastings Fishing Boats on the fisherman’s beach in the heart of Hastings Old Town which is situated by the sea in East Sussex, UK.
Made from bone china sourced from Stoke on Trent, England’s home of pottery. Designed and hand decorated and fired by me at my studio, by the sea in Fairlight East Sussex on the south coast of England. I use the classic method of decorating bone china which is very durable and lasts, is dishwasher proof and microwave safe.
These mugs must not be confused with many other mug styles which do not have the durability or the lasting quality of the decoration. They are a delight to drink from, particularly as a coffee mug, and will fast become your favourite, unless destined to become a collectors item as many of my mugs are now becoming.
Hi I’m Paul, thank you for visiting my store.
I live and my studio/store is based in Fairlight, a small village by the sea, on the South Coast of England. The nearest town is Hastings a famous English town known mostly for it’s historical date of 1066 ‘The Battle of Hastings’. The sea and the beautiful local countryside is a source of much inspiration for my art.
Each item of bone china is individually hand decorated by me and carefully fired in my studio. All my bone china is sourced from Stoke on Trent the famous English Pottery Town. I only use ceramic transfer designs that have been specially made for me from my own hand drawn designs. Some designs lend themselves to additional hand embellishment or personalisation which can be done if requested.
